Uninstall PC/Mac Desktop App

Steps for uninstalling Pluto TV app from your Windows desktop:

         1. Open Programs and Features by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Programs and Features.

         2. Select the Pluto TV app, and then click Uninstall. Some programs include the option to change or repair the program in addition to uninstalling it, but many simply offer the option to uninstall.

Steps for uninstalling Pluto TV app from your Mac desktop:

         1. Drag the Pluto TV app from the Applications folder to the Trash (located at the end of the Dock), then choose Finder > Empty Trash. If you change your mind, before emptying the Trash, select the app in the Trash, then choose File > Put Back.

WARNING: When you empty the Trash, the app is permanently removed from your Mac.

Remove saved shows

Have you been saving too many shows? Here's how to remove some from your selection.

To remove your saved shows

         1. Visit http://pluto.tv/
         2. Log-on to your Pluto TV account
         3. Click on 'Saved Shows' on the left sidebar. Your list of 'Saved Shows' will appear in order
         4. Scroll until you see the show you wish to remove.
         5. Click 'Remove' on the selected saved show and your saved show is removed.

NOTE: To save shows you must have a Pluto TV Account, Sign Up here

Turn on/off Apple Airplay Mirroring

We currently do not support Apple AirPlay in-app but you can utilize the Mirroring feature in iOS to Mirror your screen to an Apple TV to play Pluto TV on your larger screens.

To get started you will need one of these devices:

         iPhone 4 or later; 4s or later for AirPlay Mirroring
         iPad or iPad mini; iPad 2 or later for AirPlay Mirroring
         iPod touch (4th generation or later); iPod touch (5th generation or later)

Turn Airplay Mirroring ON

         1. On your iOS device, you will want to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the Control Center

         2. Tap the 'AirPlay' button on the bottom right.

         3. Tap the name of the device you want to stream content to. You'll see icons of a TV screen or speaker next to each device so you know what type of content you can stream. On iPad, you might need to scroll to see all of the available devices in the device list.

Cast Pluto TV to a Roku device

Requirements:

Supported devices for casting are the Roku 3 or Roku Streaming Stick (HDMI version)
You must have a supported stock Android device running 4.4.2 or higher. To see if your device is supported please visit http://support.roku.com/entries/56698214-Roku-screen-mirroring-compatible-devices for a full list.
Steps for casting Pluto TV on to your Roku 3 or Roku Streaming Stick (HDMI version):

         1. Go to Settings on your device and click on Display or Display & Lights

         2. Scroll to and tap on “Cast Screen”

         3. Your Roku should now appear in the Cast Screen section. Simply tap on your Roku name to connect.

NOTE: If your Roku is not appearing, try tapping the Menu button in the top right corner of the screen and check the “Enable Wireless Display” box.
If this does not work, make sure you have “Enable Screen Mirroring” on your Roku device

Disable mobile push notifications

Opt Out of Push Notifications (Android):

         1. Go to Android System Settings
         2. Apps
         3. Tap on the Pluto TV app
         4. Make sure that the “Show Notifications” check box is unchecked.

Opt Out of Push Notifications (iOS):

         1. Go to Settings
         2. Scroll down to Apps and locate Pluto TV
         3. Tap on the Pluto TV app
         4. Tap on "Notifications"
         5. Switch "Allow Notifications" to off

Troubleshoot video playback

If you are experiencing the video displaying a “playback error”, you may need to update your version of Flash Player.

If you’re using the Pluto TV app on a computer, some videos may be streamed through Adobe Flash Player, a plug-in for your web browser. Here's how to upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player and ensure the best viewing experience:

         1. Close the Pluto TV app on your computer
         2. Check your Flash Player version
         3. Download the latest version
         4. Exit your browser once you’ve downloaded the file
         5. Open the Adobe Flash Player Installer on your computer to complete the installation process
         6. Open the Pluto TV app on your computer to confirm playback has been restored

Change or update username

In the top corner of the Pluto TV home screen there is a drop down tab that allows you to navigate to your profile:

Click on the profile tab to navigate to the screen below:

Re-enter a username and/or reset password; Submit to save changes.

Reset password

You can now navigate to http://pluto.tv to change your password.

         Click on the "Sign-Up" link in the upper right hand corner of the site.
         Click on the "Log In" prompt in bottom of the registration window.
         Click on the "Reset Password" link.
         Enter your username or email and click the "Reset Password" button to submit your reset request.

You will receive an email within minutes with a link to reset your password. Simply follow the link to enter and verify your updated password.

Change channels

You can change the channel in two places.

         1. The first way to change channels is to click and select a channel in the Channel Guide. You can either scroll with your mouse and click OR use the arrows on your keyboard to change channels.

         2. The other way is to click on Channel Lineup on the left side menu. Here you can select from the list of Channels, which are ordered by Category. Simply click on the channel name to change the channel.

How to check for the latest app version

Apple TV v.1.2.4: Improved performance and stability. (Released on December 10, 2015.)

To ensure that you have the latest version of the app (Version 1.2.4):

         1. From the Home screen, choose App Store.
         2. Choose Purchased.
         3. Find and select the Pluto TV app to update.
         4. Select the Install icon. If an update is available, the Pluto TV app update will download to your device.

Note: Once the update is complete, you can re-open the updated app version from the update screen.

ROKU v.1.2.223: Improved performance and stability, especially on older Roku models. (Released on December 8, 2015.)

To ensure that you have the latest version of the app (Version 1.2, Build 223):

         1. From the Roku Home screen, choose Settings.
         2. Choose System.
         3. Find and select System update.
         4. Select the Check Now button to run a system check.
         5. If an update is available, you will see the Roku update Pluto TV channel.

Note: Once the update is complete, you can click back to Home and select the Pluto TV channel and hit * to view the version.
